More Granularity in Scheduling Practices

Under Consideration
To make use of the limited ice we have in Mitchell, we often get creative in our practice scheduling.  I'd like the system to accommodate this schedule (which we are doing this week to get 3 teams a practice in a 2 hour time slot).

5:00-5:20pm Atom LL and Atom Rep Share
5:20-5:30pm Atom Rep by themselves
5:30-5:50pm Atom Rep and Novice Girls 2
5:50-6:20pm Novice Girls 2 by themselves

The current website doesn't allow for practice times less than 30 minutes which makes this impossible.  By allowing a practice to be down to 5 minutes long it would allow me to put this into the system properly.

As it is, I have to put things in 30 min chunks and then email the arena and coaches to give them the real schedule.

James.

Hello James,

This could have a negative impact on the day-at-a-glance and week-at-a-glance pages as the system may not be able to even draw something as short as 5 minutes.  We'll have to test this and verify the impact.

Yeh, the 5 minute granularity is maybe a bit of stretch.

Obviously this didn't get resolved.  My situation is now similar.  85 minute slot.  And looking to do the following

5:10 - 5:40 Team A (30 Min)
5:40 - 6:05 Team A & Team B (25 MIn)
6:05 - 6:35 Team B (30 Min)

Thanks,

Michael for the above situation what's recommended is to schedule two overlapping practices and use a label, such as "Ice Max"

The problem with overlapping practices is that it will cause a conflict. The more teams you schedule the more you need to rely on keeping those conflicts from showing up--otherwise one that matters is buried in a bunch that don't.

Should have read to the end of the thread. This is great and should help with the exact situation I was seeing. Thanks a lot.
