Several users have recently reported strange issues when it comes to image orientation for some of their pictures which were being uploaded to the site. The cause of this odd behaviour is that pictures which are taken with a phone have a hidden file property which declares the orientation that the phone was in when the picture was taken - and this property isn't available when viewing the image on a website.
The video below illustrates this issue and how the same problem also occurs within Microsoft Outlook image preview area, which is one of the world's most popular email programs.
The video also showcases some new online image editing features which were recently added to the site. These features will allow images to be rotated to the correct orientation, as well as some other cool image editing tools like cropping and resizing.
